LURTZ is a multidisciplinary, design brand that operates from Munich and Berlin and was founded in 2022. The spectrum of products such as candles, vases and lamps all revolve around the question of how art can be made useful in everyday life.

The foundation of her creative practice is an endless battle between balance and symmetry on one hand, and spontaneity and nature on the other. Vanessa is specially drawn towards unconventional forms with soft, organic shapes or randomness and sharp edges. She is fascinated by randomness and mistakes and try as much as possible to follow the flow and see where it ends. In this process, the artist aims to let go of any pre-existing thoughts or expectations and tries to work more with her hands rather than her head.

Vanessa J. Lurtz is a sculptural designer and artist based in Munich, Germany. She graduated in graphic design from Designschule Munich in 2012 and in fashion design from Kunsthochschule Berlin Weißensee in 2019.
